Welcome to Capt. Ann's Logs

The prudent mariner does what is necessary to avoid the need for extraordinary seamanship!
Over the years I've written various short articles about boating, some to teach, some to amuse (I hope), and some to share interesting or unusual experiences. With this "log" I'd like to share those musings. Maybe one will strike a cord and encourage someone else to join the maritime community.
I've also developed a list (not too long) of favorite books to recommend. These range from the classic "Sailing Alone Around the World" by Josh Slocum -- definitely a must-read -- to Bernard Moitessier's "The Long Way" which is a wonderful combination of adventure, seamanship, and philosophy. I plan to create a list that would represent my on-board library if I had more room on board for books.
There will also be pictures from various trips, as well as boat pictures and pictures of the local harbor. I am fortunate indeed to live in a place where boating is a year-round possibility.
This log is a casual thing. I hope you will enjoy poking through it now and then.
break . . . more to follow
